中文摘要：鉴于当前“大清洗”研究存在的局限性和官方公布的汇总统计资料的缺陷,不宜把苏联和俄罗斯官方公布的“大清洗”受害者数字绝对化,认为是官方公布的,就绝对准确,而应当把这些官方数字同目前俄罗斯学者研究统计的结果加以对照,尔后才能做出较为切合实际的判断。而且只有在明了苏联犯人管理机构和整个复杂的惩罚机制的基础上,对有关“大清洗”的若干主要概念、用语加以澄清,弄清中、俄两国学术界关于“政治迫害”话语内涵的差别,并对双方学术话语加以对比和严格区分,建立中国人便于理解的学术话语体系,同时也把苏联“大清洗”这一历史事件和它发生、发展、高潮和结尾各个阶段的时间概念搞清楚,才能为认识和研究“大清洗”提供必要的前提。

英文摘要：Given the partial nature of existing studies of the purges and the imperfections of the official statistics, the numbers of victims of the purges officially issued by either the Soviet Union or the Russian government should not be taken as precise and exact simply because they come from official sources. More realistic judgments can only be made after comparing these official statistics with the findings of Russian researchers. To better understand and study the great purge, it is also necessary to understand the Soviet system of prisoner management and the complex penal system. On this basis, the researcher can clarify the main concepts and terms about the event. It is also necessary to study the different meanings of“political persecution”in Chinese and Russia academic discourse and to compare and rigorously distinguish the discourse used by both sides, in order to construct an academic discourse system that will be readily understood by the Chinese. It is equally important to be clear about the timing of the different stages of the great purge, from its origins and development to its high tide and conclusion.
