中文摘要：张骞凿空使汉朝与西域诸国开始了正式的交往,鉴于西域复杂的语言环境以及双方日益频繁往来的需要,汉朝在西域各国设置了类似中央的翻译官职———译长。这一职官在西域都护所属的绝大多数西域城邦中都设有,职位虽不高,但起着十分重要的作用。

英文摘要：The opening of the westward route by Zhang Qian started the formal intercommunion between the Han Dynasty and the states in the Western Regions.The Han Dynasty set up the official position of Yi Zhang (director of interpreters) similar to that in the Han court. Though not a high-ranking position, Yi Zhang, set up in most states in the Western Regions, played an important role.
