中文摘要：本文认为,长城在隋朝得到了利用,但是隋朝多沿承前朝旧有的基础,而且是部分地采用,其目的是防御突厥的进攻。之所以如此,是因为长城的建设只是隋朝处理北方关系的一个手段,隋很重视军队的建设和将领的选拔任用,以综合措施防守北方边地。这是隋朝长城修建的特点。

英文摘要：This dissertation thinks that the Great Wall was used by the Sui Dynasty. But Sui just made use of parts of the Great Wall by following the base of the former dynasty with the aim to defend the attack by Turkic people. Its reason is that the Sui Dynasty paid much attention to the construction of army and the choice and appointment of officers and stressed to guard the northern borderlands with comprehensive measures, and the construction of the Great Wall was just a means to deal with the relationships with the northern peoples, which characterized the building of the Great Wall in the Sui Dynasty.
