中文摘要:《文心雕龙·附会》篇讨论文学创作的布局谋篇,提出了结构艺术的“杂而不越”说。前人对《附会》篇的研究同中有异,有的侧重首尾一贯,有的侧重命意修辞,有的侧重“百义一意”。王元化侧重“杂而不越”。本文是对王元化观点的推进。文本认为刘勰提出的“杂而不越”的美学内涵包含三点:把文学作品理解为生命的形式,整体优先,“依源循干”。本文在中西比较中揭示这些原则的现代意义。本文认为“杂而不越”是从中华文化的根干上面生长出来的,有深厚的文化内涵。
英文摘要:The chapter of “Fluency and Coherence” in the Wen-hsin Tiao-lung discusses the organization in literary composition and puts forward the idea of varying without transgressing. So far the discussions on this chapter have been different in their emphases, some on coherence, others on rhetoric, and still others on the polysemous. Wang Yuanhua puts his emphasis on “varying without transgressing.” This paper tries to develop Wang’s point of view, and points out that Liu Xie’s idea of “varying without transgressing” connotes three aesthetic dimensions: taking literary works as life-forms, putting the whole over the parts, and depending on the source and following the trunk in order to keep the watercourses and the branchings. This paper tries to reveal the modern significance of these principles as are compared with Western literary theories, thus affirming this idea as native to the Chinese culture.
