中文摘要:禅宗于藏传佛教前弘期传入吐蕃。其间摩诃衍入藏,"顿渐之诤"以及诸多禅宗文本译为藏文,为诸多吐蕃人所接受。此时禅宗思想南北禅融合,以南禅为主,搀杂许多道教、玄学等汉地传统思想元素,亦吸收藏族传统宗教苯教的重要概念。9世纪以降,藏译禅宗资料被藏传佛教史书大量引用,且不同程度地波及藏传佛教诸宗派之教义思想,而古今藏人学者对以摩诃衍为首的禅宗的评判也众说纷纭、褒贬不一。对此,我们应从汉藏文化交流的语境和汉藏佛教对话的视野中予以审视和考量,以便获得客观公正的结论。
英文摘要:Before Hashang Mahāyāna introduced Chan to Tibet,its northern and southern schools had largely merged,drawing some elements from the Han intellectual traditions such as Taoism and the mystical school developing in the 3rd and 4th centuries.The southern school assumed a dominant position in the new complex.After the arrival of Hashang Mahāyāna,many Chan texts were translated into Tibetan language,and the advocators for the sudden enlightenment path debated with those who supported gradual enlightenment at the Samyé Monastery.From the 9th century on,theories and practices of Chan,absorbing some important concepts from Bn,the Tibetan indigenous religion,became well rooted in Tibetan religious culture,and continued to influence the doctrines of Tibetan Buddhist sects to varying degrees.The Chan texts were frequently cited in Tibetan religious literature.After the Samyé debate,Tibetan scholars have kept contending over the authenticity of Chan represented by Hashang Mahāyāna.I suggest that the question be considered in the context of Han-Tibetan cultural exchanges as well as dialogues between the Han and Tibetan Buddhism.
