中文摘要：凌稚隆是明代万历时贡生,嗜好《史记》,他汇集万历四年以前历代研究《史记》的优秀成果,撰成《史记评林》。此书并非明代的一些摘抄、评点本可比,它不仅收录了历代研究《史记》的精华,且其间亦渗透着凌氏的真知灼见。此书为后世研究《史记》在内容、体例和版本方面提供有益的借鉴,因此,不能因其名为《评林》,就否定凌稚隆研究《史记》的成就以及《史记评林》的史学价值。

英文摘要：Ling Zhi-Long was a Gongsheng(贡生) in Ming Dynasty. He was indulgenced in Shi Chi, and compiled Achievements of Shi Chi before fourth year in Wan Li period, called Shi Chi Ping Lin. This book really overmatches others commenting books, which not only embodies the best feature of Shi Chi research during past dynasties, but also permeates Ling’s correct and profound insight. This book provides reference in contents \ arrangement \ edition for Shi Chi research afterwards. Therefore, we think highly of Shi Chi Ping Lin’s historical value.
