中文摘要：神策中尉是唐后期中央神策禁军最高军事统帅 ,其军职设置最突出的特征 ,是任职人选有严格的身份限定 ,即任职者必须是宦官。唐代宦官通过出任神策中尉一职典制军政 ,控制唐中央禁军系统 ,形成势力强大的宦官军事集团。唐后期出现的宦官专权以及由宦官专权引发的种种政治矛盾斗争 ,与神策中尉这一特殊军职的设置 ,有着非常密切的关系。

英文摘要：Shence Lieutenant was the top commander of the imperial guards, who should be a eunuch, in the later period of the Tang Dynasty. The eunuches controled imperial guards then. In the later period of the Tang Dynasty a series of politic struggles happened because the eunuch monopolizd the power. The Shence Lientenant, a special army position, had a close relationship to those.
