中文摘要：《天主教要》是明清间来华传教士的一篇重要文献，是来华耶稣会士用中文所写的第一个经本。但长期以来关于它的作者没有统一的认识，而且由于它深藏于梵蒂冈图书馆和耶稣会档案馆之中，学术界从未介绍过它的具体内容。因而大多数涉及它的文章都是泛泛而论。本文依据梵蒂冈图书馆和耶稣会档案馆的原始藏本，对《天主教要》的出版时间、地点、作者做了逐一的考证，并具体论证了现有的两个版本的差别。结论是：《天主教要》为来华耶稣会士用中文写的第一本经书，初期经罗明坚翻译，后由利玛窦翻译、修定，并于１６０５年重新出版。梵蒂冈档案馆所藏的《天主教要》更接近利玛窦１６０５年的版本，这个本子是目前保留下来的利玛窦最早的本子之一。因此，此书应收入利玛窦全集之中。

英文摘要：The Doctrine of the Lord of Heaven, (Tianzhu Jiaoyao ) is one of the most important documents on the history of the cultural exchange between China and the West in the Ming Dynasty. It is also one of the earliest works written in Chinese by Jesuits who came to China. Hitherto, none of the publication has introduced its author, the date of its publication and its contents,since it was tightly kept in Vatican Library and the Archives of Jesuits (ARAl). According to its original text, this article makes a textual criticism on the date and the place of its publication, and distinguishes one existing original book from another. The author thought" The Doc trifle of the Lords of. Heaven " (Tianzhu Jiaoyao) "in Vatican Library was written by Matteo Ricci,S. J.
