中文摘要：《孟子》“鱼与熊掌不可兼得”的高论广为流传，其中有一句“蹴尔而与之，乞人不屑”的话，历来遵循赵岐的注释，把“蹴尔”解为“践踏”，“不屑”解为“不以为洁”或引申讲成“认为不值得”。本文认为赵注以及相关的今注不合语言规律、不合事理逻辑、不合文情语境、不合客观实际，因而考求“蹴尔”与“蹩尔”通用，应该解释为皱眉或愁眉苦脸的样子，表示不情愿的态度；“不屑”则是不在乎、不看重的意思，实际上指不接受。

英文摘要：It's well known of the saying "鱼与熊掌不可兼得"in Mencius (《孟子》), “蹴尔而与之, 气人不屑也"is quoted from which. We usually interpret "蹴尔"as"being trampled "(践踏)and inter- pret"不屑"asuconsidering it not clean" (不以为洁)or"thinking it not worthwhile" (认? 恢档?ac- cording to what zhao Qi had said. The paper holds adifferent view on it for which doesn't conform to laws of language,logic,context and objective reality. Then it points out that "蹴尔"should be inter- preted as "frowning"or"pulling a long face "and indicates reluctant attitude,and "不屑"interpreted as "not caring"or"not va1uing "which in fact refers to unaccept through proving the fact that ”蹴尔"can be substituted for "蹙尔".
