英文摘要：In November 1998, Hong Kong Chinese University hosted "the 3rd International Con-ference on South China and Adjacent Ancient Cultures" in celebration of the 20th anniver-sary of the Center of Chinese archaeology and Art. This meeting on the theme of "EastAsian Jade" was attended by nearly one hundred scholars from mainland China, HongKong, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Us, U K, Russia and Philippine, with 79 essayssubmitted. The discussion was divided between four topics: (1)jade culture in general; (2)jade artifacts of the ancient China; (3)jade technique and material; (4)other jade culturesin East Asia. The meeting is the first international conference ever held on excavated EastAsian jade articles.
