中文摘要：琉球作为中国的海上邻国,自洪武五年与明确立往来关系后,双方一直交往密切,几乎所有新立琉球国王都要请求明朝皇帝的册封。作者通过对明太祖洪武十六和十八年两次赐琉球国王印的史实分析,提出明帝对琉球国王册封的起始时间可能早于永乐二年的看法。册封是国家外交礼仪的具体表现形式,明帝赐赴琉球册封使和琉球国王的礼服存在着明显的越级与混合现象。通过对册封礼服和印章等级规格的辨析,不仅可以观察出明代朝廷对琉球的礼仪规格和外交策略,同时,还从另一个侧面折射出了中国古人利用服饰传达的和平理念。

英文摘要：Ryukyu, a neighboring state, has had closer ties with China ever since the 5th year of Hongwu ( 洪武) regime of the Ming dynasty, during which the emperors were requested to confer the titles upon almost all the new kings of the state. By the historical data concerning the facts that the Ming Taizu bestowed the seals on the kings of Ryukyu in the 16th and 18th years in the reign of Hongwu ( 洪武), the author views that it was supposedly previous to the 2nd year of Yongle's( 永乐) reign that the Ming emperor first conferred the title on the king of Ryukyu. Besides, it is obviously a higher-level treatment that the Ming emperors bestowed the titles on the kings of Ryukyu, as conferring a title just worked as a specific way in diplomatic protocol. Lastly, based on the researches above, this paper expounds the intention that the Ming Empire had by taking the preferential diplomatic protocol and strategy to the neighboring state, which, from a different perspective, is an interpretation of the ancient Chinese wishes for a peaceful world.
