中文摘要：郭子仪是一位被唐代名相、著名史臣裴垍评为"权倾天下而朝不忌,功盖一代而主不疑,侈穷人欲而君子不之罪"的人物。他为唐朝立下收复两京、平定安史之乱、平定仆固怀恩之乱、抵御边疆少数名族侵扰等等赫赫战功,但也获得了高官厚禄、家族显赫、子孙富贵,同时流芳百世,至今受人称道。他有不世的将帅之才,有自足常乐、谦恭自谨、防奸杜倖、不挟憾以报仇雠的为人之道,有竭诚尽忠、委婉进谏、尽职尽责、失宠无怨、以天下安危为己任、以身作则的为官之道。从古至今他都是个焦点人物,他各个方面都值得后人去称颂,去研究,去学习。笔者认为,从郭子仪身上可以看到成大事者必须具备几点:一要为国家尽职尽责、鞠躬尽瘁、死而后已;二是不能居功自傲,即使立了大功也要谦虚谨慎;三是知道激流勇退,不贪功;四是教育好子孙。

英文摘要：Guo Zi-yi was,according to Pei Ji who was a renowned official in Tang Dynasty,a man who had great power but not hated by the court,who made tremendous contributions but not mistrusted by the monarch and who lived in luxury but not blamed by the ruler.He got high rank in the court and gained dignity for his family and heirs because of his distinguished service in battles,such as retrieving two capitals,cracking down the Anshi Rebellion,suppressing the uprising led by Pugu Huaien and fighting back the aggression of minorities on the border.Meanwhile,his name became immortal.With the talent of a general,he was always sticking to his life philosophy of keeping a contented mind,being modest and prudent,guarding against treacherous officials and never abusing his power,as well as his principles as an official,i.e.being loyal to the ruler,fulfilling his responsibilities,never complaining when he was not in the favor of the monarch,taking the country's welfare as his duty and acting as others' model.As a man in the limelight since ancient times,he is worth all the credits and studies.The author,with a view to learn from him through this study,concludes that the following aspects are necessities for a great man: 1.Devoting all your life to the country;2.Never being arrogant and remain modest and prudent even when you make huge contributions;3.Never meriting everything to yourself and withdraw at the right time;4.Educating your children.
