中文摘要：本文利用历史记载和敦煌遗书,论述宋初葱岭(帕米尔高原)内外的大石国,即是西方史书所说的喀喇汗王朝。其国的统治民族为回鹘,早期并未迁都喀什噶尔。其人民主要从事畜牧业生产。喀喇汗王朝的统治者和多数居民虽然信仰伊斯兰教,但对佛教和基督教并不持反对的情绪和敌视的态度。

英文摘要：This paper holds that Dashi kindom across Congling (Pamir) at the beginning of Song dynasty is Karakhanid in the historical records of the West through analysis of historical records and Dunhuang documents. Its ruling people are Uigur, who did not move their capital to Kashgar in earlier stage. Its people mainly go in for animal husbandry. The rulers and majority inhabitants worship Islam but are not opposed to or hostile to Buddhism and Christianity.
